Request & Activity Export (CSV / Excel)
Download a workflow's full request data or audit activity as a CSV or Excel file, with every form field flattened into its own spreadsheet column.
Updated
Request & Activity Export lets you download a workflow's request data or its audit trail as a CSV or Excel file, with every visible form field flattened into its own spreadsheet column. It's for Administrators who need request history in a spreadsheet — for reporting, reconciliation, or handing an audit trail to someone outside ApproveThis. The export buttons live on the workflow's 'Activity' tab, which is only shown to users who can edit the workflow. You'll need a workflow that already has requests submitted through it.
Who this is for: admin.
Export the Requests table as CSV, then open the 'Activity Log' sub-tab, sort it newest-first by clicking 'Date' twice, and find the export recorded at the top of the log
When you need this workflow's request history outside the app — in a spreadsheet, a report, or an audit package — the CSV export gives you every matching row, not just the page you're looking at, and the export itself is recorded in the workflow's audit trail. Note that the export honors only the table's search text and sort order: the Status and Created From / Created Until dropdown filters are not applied, hidden form fields never appear, and once the workflow is published its test requests are excluded.
-
Sign in as an Administrator.
-
Click Requests to open the sub-tab listing every request submitted through this workflow.

Step 2 -
Click CSV to export those requests. The file downloads immediately in the browser, with one row per request — Status, Requester, and Submitted, followed by one column per visible form field.

Step 3 -
Click Activity Log to switch to the workflow's audit trail.

Step 4 -
Click Date to sort the log by date, clicking again to reverse the order so the newest entries sit at the top — the example does this 2 times. The export you just ran appears as the most recent entry.

Step 5
The top of the log reads Exported requests as CSV, confirming the export was recorded.
