Video Review Comments

Video Review Comments let you leave feedback on a request's embedded video that's pinned to an exact moment, so a note about a specific frame arrives as a timestamp rather than a description. A 'Video Link' field on the form stores a pasted Gumlet, YouTube, or Google Drive URL — ApproveThis does not host, transcode, or store the video file itself — and the clip plays inline on the request page next to Comments. This guide is for Administrators reviewing a request that already has a video link on it. Each timestamped comment shows a chip that jumps the player back to that moment, and comment-received emails carry the timestamp and a link that lands on the request and auto-seeks to it.

Leave a comment pinned to a moment in the video

When something is wrong at one specific point in a clip, a written description makes the next person hunt for it; pinning the comment to a timestamp turns it into a single click for everyone who reads the request. You'll need a request with a video link on it, open on the request page. Note that provider support is asymmetric: Gumlet and YouTube allow in-page capture, seek, and jog, while Google Drive embeds are not scriptable — their timestamps are typed manually and the jump chip opens Drive's own viewer in a new tab.

1. Sign in as an Administrator and open the request holding the video you're reviewing.

2. Click Add a comment… to start a new comment.

   

3. Type your feedback in Add a comment…, describing what you saw at that point in the clip — e.g., The logo flickers here — needs a cleaner fade.

   

4. Enter the playback position you want the comment pinned to in Timestamp (minutes:seconds), using minutes and seconds — e.g., 0:45.

   

5. Click Add to attach the timestamp to the comment.

   

6. Click Comment to post it to the request.

   

The Comments area updates to show 1 comment, with a chip that jumps the player back to the moment you pinned.
