Unified Inbox (Preview)

The Unified Inbox is a preview of the proposed next dashboard: one paginated, searchable feed of every request you're allowed to see, most recently updated first. It's for anyone who approves or submits requests and wants to find and act on them from a single screen instead of hunting through lists. Because it's a preview, its layout, labels, and behavior may change or be replaced before it becomes the default — the existing Dashboard is untouched and remains your landing page. You'll need a request with an approval step pending on you.

Narrow the feed with the 'Sent to me' filter, search for the request you need, and approve it right from the feed

When several requests are waiting on you and you only remember a phrase from the form someone filled in, this combination of role filter, full-text search, and inline approval closes the request without leaving the feed. This is the only full-text request search in the product — it looks inside submitted field contents, request and workflow names, requester names, and approver names and emails — though it returns at most the 500 most relevant matches, and it never includes test requests or members with an external role, for whom the page is hidden.

1. Sign in to ApproveThis as the person the approval is waiting on, and open the Inbox from the sidebar.

2. Click Sent to me to narrow the feed to requests with a pending approval waiting on you; the chip carries a live count of those requests.

   

3. Type what you remember about the request into Search requests, people, or contents… — a phrase from the request name, the workflow, the requester, an approver, or the submitted answers themselves (e.g., Standing desk).

   

4. Click Approve on the row for the request you want to approve. If that step requires your signature, you're taken to the full request to finish there instead.

   

Once the approval is recorded, the request drops out of the filtered, searched feed and the Inbox reads No matching requests.
